Uzamčený Transition to Office 365, not going good.

We started transition on 2/17/12.  I had all my users updated, made sure everyone was using Office 2007 or higher.  Changed the Cname when I could log into the new Office 365 portal.  I never did get a straight answer from Microsoft.  I thought everything was going good until now.

We send a lot of email out.   We send our clients reports every day and they depend on our reports to run their business.

So today I found out that Office 365 limits the number of emails you can send per day, per user to 1,500 and 30 per minute.  I have thousands of emails that didnt get sent because we reached our limit by 8 AM.

I call and get a message saying they are busy, plesae use your admin page to start a support ticket, good bye.  Thats great my Admin page is locked because of the transition.  I call and choose other options, get through and put on hold for over 30 min.  The guy comes back on and still doesnt understand the situation.

It looks like I dont have much of an option here, I am going to have to either change hosted solutions or get my own email server.

My biggest issue with Microsoft is the complete lack of propper documentation.  Its not the limit, had I known earlier I could have made plans prior.

look here: you can find the documentation about your issue: http://help.outlook.com/en-au/140/ff381292.aspx

The solution for your case (sending lot of mails a day) is to use distributions groups. A mail to a DG counts as only one mail.

    Ralf,

Thanks for the reply but that wont work for us.  I saw that link and it wont work because we send reports that are confidential.  The work around I found was to add more users and scale back the emails per minute.  This will work until I find something else.  They moved us from unlimited emails to 1500 per user per day, 30 emails per minute.  I guess I should have looked for Service document and found the answer on page 60.  I would never have thought to read it as I was already a BPOS client and didnt think they would drastically change the email limits.  I suppose I am lucky in one regard as they had set the limit to 500.

    Thanks for posting this!!!

This will definitely be a problem for us since we send thousands of automated emails/day and hundreds/minute from our internal applications/servers to internal and external recipients.

The DL/DG workaround won't work since most of the time the recipients are pulled from various databases and are constantly changing.

This limit is plain stupid for Enterprise plans ... imho
