Hi,
I'm running exchange 2010 SP2 with MailMarshal as the external mail gateway, the challenge is that when i create a user i cant sent & receive mails from outside i.e gmail but when i create a distribution group i get a bounce back when i send from outside but internally its working. I have tried tricking it by created a user then setting it to forward to the group but i still get the error.
Please advise

From Exchange System Manager, Search for the DL.
Take the properties
Select Mail-flow settings
Require that all senders are authenticated check box. If you select this check box, messages from external users will be rejected.

Thanks for your reply,
the trick (creating a user then setting it to forward to the group ) is working but when i send directly to distribution group its bouncing.

What I suggested is to uncheck "Require that all senders are authenticated" on the properties of DL.
That will fix this issue.

You may need to wait for some time to get it working.
Give a try after an hour.
Good luck !

Hi,
I understand that you cannot send/receive message externally.
Then please verify if you can send/receive message internally.
Does this issue only occur to gamil?
Please use message tracking tool to check the last detail error information, please post it here.
I recommend you to enable smtp logging to see if message has left organization.
