Cannot send email to user

Hi Guys,
I have just migrated to Exchange 2007 and still have my E2k3 box running for Public Folder replication purposes - although I will decommision the server once I fixed all the snags.
Anyway, since the replication, I have a user for which I had to drop their mailbox and re-create it. Now when anyone internally sends an email to them using their outlook autolist it fails with an NDR. However, all external email come in to the user and all emails sent internally via the GAL (not the autolist) work.
I wonder if it because the user mailbox was created in one server in one administrative group and then the mailbox was dropped and recreated in another - would this be an x500 problem?
I don't want to drop any more mailboxes untl I understand why this is happening.
The NDR is below:
Generating server: bilbo.briarsgroup.local

Hi all,
Exactly the same thing happens to me. Coninsidently, I did the same migration described above and also droped and recreate some mailboxes. Those mailboxes are the one with the problem.
Anyone knows how to fix it?

Hi,
I have now found the fix!
It is the LegacyExchangeDN of the mailbox. The old entry would have been the same as the original exchange adminstratvive group but would have transferred it to the new e2k7 administrative group. When you deleted the user and recreated it, the mailbox would have the same email address but a new LegacyExchangeDN for the new exchange 2007 adminstrative group.
What you need to do is use adsiedit to edit the mailbox LegacyExchangeDN properties back to the old value. You can look at another migrated users LegacyExchange DN to get the prefix before the mailbox name.
Once I did this it fixed the problem!
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
Niall.

Hi Chtist4,
ADSIEdit is a utility that you get in the support tools pack you can download from microsoft.
Checkout this URL for perhaps an easier way:
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Understanding-LegacyExchangeDN.html
Hope this helps?
Niall.

Hello EveryOne,
My name is Mahesh and I have worked on Exchange server 2007 and Exchange 2007. this is prettry simple issue to resolve. just go ahead and delete the automatic entires coming up in your outlook and retype the entire email address and it should resolve the problem.
or try selecting the user's entry from Gloabal address list instead of Offline address book.
You can mail me at mahesh_phalle1989@hotmail.com
