Unanswered Allworx 6x and Exchange Unified Messaging Integration

We just installed an Allworx 6x (IP PBX) system and would like to know if it can be integrated with Exchange's Unified Messaging system (that is part of our SBS package).  I guess I actually have a few questions:

    1.  Can the systems be integrated?

    2.  If it can be integrated, can some users voicemails stay on the Allworx system (i.e., people who don't have Exchange mailboxes)?

    3.  If integrated, does the Allworx system still process the calls up to the point that it's directed to a VM box or would the Exchange system need to take over that responsibility?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

What version of Exchange are you using?

    1. In http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee364753.aspx I don't see Allworx as being a supported PBX.  But you may be able to get it to work if the PBX has SIP ability or using a SIP gateway to talk between the two systems.

    2. If it does integrate, where the calls arrive (voicemail) would depend on your PBX's ability to have different routes for each user/number.

    3. Exchange UM is not a PBX, just used for voicemail purposes, so your PBX would still control your calls.

Thank you for your reply.  We're using Exchange Server 2010 SP 2.

The system has SIP abilities (i.e., our phone lines are through a SIP trunk).

    Richard,

Were you able to get this working?  We are just about to put in an Allworx 48x and are wanting to use Exchange 2010's UM capabilities.

    Thanks!
