    please let me know, i dont want to break it by forcing it to shutdown.

    Hello,

    I tried forcing shutdown when installing updates and it caused no problems. But, this practice is not recommended by Microsoft. If you had problems by proceeding like that, then you have to restore your system state using a restore point that dates before the update.

    Please also run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r /f, install System Update Readiness tool for your Windows, reset Windows Update components, disable all security softwares and then try installing updates and check again.

    It is not suggested to perform cold shut down during installing updates. Some updates may take longer time to sort out itself. If the time is within your scope, please think twice before shutdown.
