Unanswered Lync and Polycom CX600

    Following the instructions on the screen, I signed into Lync and then then attached my polycom, but no authentication window popped up.  In the Lync properties it shows the polycom under the audio devices.  If i mess around with it, i can get the authentication to pop up when the polycom is not connected, but after trying to connect the usb before and after entering my credentials...the phone still can't connect.  just sits on "Sign in to Lync on your computer and then connect your phone to you computer using a usb cable"

    Have you attempted either a hard-reset or factory-reset? http://blog.schertz.name/2010/12/externally-provisioning-lync-phone-edition-3/

    What hardware Rev is listed on the botto of the phone?
    What software version and rev is shown in the phone's System Information menu?
    What version of Lync is running on the server and cdesktop client (RTM 4.0.7577.0 or CU1 4.0.7577.108)?

    Ive tried both types of resets.  If i have the phone connected when i log into Lync, i get a message to log into lync again and THEN attach the phone.  the problem is, when the phone is connected, the authentication box doesn't show up.  if i login without the phone connected, the authen window pops up.  ive tried multiple combos and nothing seems to work.

    Rev A

    4.0.7576.0

    Lync = 4.0.7577.0

    We are able to get the authentication box show up with the CX600. I am signed into Lync on the PC, then i plug the USB cable into the PC and on the CX600 hit sign in using a PC, and as soon i hit that then the authentication box shows. This will not show if you arent signed into Lync on the PC that the USB cable is connected to.

    If you sign in to the CX600 first and then attach the USB the authentication box will not appear, it requires you to sign out on the phone and then connect the USB and then choose the option to sign in with a PC.

    Can you check if your CX600 is functioning in that manner.

    When a user is signed-in to a Lync Phone Edition device it will never ask for credentials again as they are cached. Even if the AD user's password is expired or account is locked the device continues to utilize a client certificate to connect to the Lync Server.

    You must manually sign the user out of the device to be prompted to enter any credentials again.

    had similar issues, you need to ensure that the latest firmware is installed on the cx600

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23866

    then when you connect the cx600 (one not already configured) it will prompt for credentials as normal.

    Make sure you approve the update so it installs to the phone :-)
