    I am attempting to deploy Office 2010 Pro via Config Manager and have been successful with using MAK.  However, I am now trying to use KMS and am running into some issues.  After I switched from MAK to KMS and redeployed Office I noticed that the install was failing right away.  I changed it from silent to full in OCT and when I ran setup it prompted for a key.

    Since the licensing section in OCT is set to KMS I am confused as to why the setup would prompt for a key??  The KMS server is setup and working properly and even if it wasn't the install I would imagine would still complete, but the client just wouldn't activate right?

    Any help would be appreciated as I am stuck.  Thanks!

    Hi,

    what is the commandline for setup.exe you are using?
    Are you re-deploying Office to the same client machine over the top of the previous or existing install?

    You mentioned Office Pro, but I guess you mean Office ProPlus (since Pro is not a VL edition)?

    Through Config Manager 2012 I am referencing just setup.exe as my understanding is when the .msp file is in updates folder it gets automatically applied.

    I am deploying it over 2007 and the OCT is set to remove all previous versions.  When using the MAK this works just fine.

    You are correct it is ProPlus.

    I am in the process of downloading the ISO from Microsoft again as I had the thought that the copy I was working off of was downloaded from MSDN by a co-worker and if this is the case then KMS would not work....

    Well I feel very silly that this was my issue with the amount of time I spent on this, but it came down to the version of software being used.  I was using a copy of Office 2010 that had been downloaded from MSDN and it does not work with KMS.  FYI for anyone that comes across this!
