On-Behalf-Of functionality not working with the Conferncing Add-in
- When secretaries want to schedule a Livemeeting on-behal-of their boss we run into issues using the Conferencing Add-In.
Problem:
Scheduling Live meeting On behalf is not working
When a Secretary opens the calendar of her boss and schedules a live meeting then the recepients get the invitation but the meeting is not created on the Live meeting Service and the “Join Meeting” link is not working for the recepients.
If the secretary schedules a live meeting form her own calendar then everything works as espected but the mail is coming from the secretary and not from the manager.
Work around
Secretaries can schedule a meeting on the conference centerl portal and copy/paste the information in a normal meeting request, so that the invitation can be send on-behalf-of the manger.
Solution
When will Microsoft solve this issue?

- Unfortunately, the delegate feature in Outlook is not available for the Live Meeting Outlook Add-in. However, this feature has been marked for consideration as we plan our next major release.
TD - What is the progress/status of this on-behalf-of functionality in the LM Conferencing Add-In?
Michele - Another work around
Secretary can configure her boss account in her Outlook Add-ins to be able to sens the invitations for her boss if she has to manage the boss mailbox, calendar, and meetings. As the invitations are sent from secretary mailbox, they can be sent on behalf too. - It appears that this was marked for consideration nearly a year ago. Any update on if it made the cut and if so, when the next release will be?
Thanks.
I take it back. Just found the solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971628/

After installing the "fix" I now have even more limited functionality. When attempting to schedule a Live Meeting on behalf of another person, I now receive the following error: "You do not have permissions to schedule meetings and conferences on behalf of the owner of this account. Please get permissions to the owner's Outlook and then try again." Prior to installing the fix, I could at least schedule the meeting on the manager's calendar while using my Live Meeting information. (To be very clear, I now lack the ability to schedule a live meeting on behalf of others whatsoever)
I also referenced a Microsoft Article stating that delegates can now schedule meetings on behalf of others so long as they have access to the other person's Outlook. It then links me to an article simply describing how to give delegate access in Outlook, but says nothing about Live Meeting.
Does this "fix" require delegates to have access to the manager's email in addition to read/write/edit access to his calendar? If so...this does not seem like a true fix. Otherwise, I may just be missing something?

- The delegate requires "send on behalf of" permission (which is granted automatically when they are given delegate permissions) as well as editor permissions to the calendar. They would need that anyway to send a meeting for someone else. They don't need read access to the manager's email.
You also must be using the latest version (with hotfixes) of the Live Meeting Conferencing Add-in for Outlook, Communicator 2007 R2 and OCS 2007 R2. If you do not have R2 versions of both OCS and OC this doesn't fix anything. You may need Office/Outlook 2007 as well, but I can't confirm this.
Good luck... - You have to enable delegate sync between Outlook and Communicator as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971845/
(Or if Enterprise Voice is enabled, you can configure delegates in Communicator)
Hitm - Our secretaries are having this problem with their boss's calendar. Here's our setup:OCS 2007 R2OC R2 with the Jan 2010 update.Live Meeting Client Jan 2010 updateOutlook OC plugin Jan 2010 update.Outlook 2007The secretaries are setup as Delegates in their boss's calendar with Editor permissions. I can see in the boss's AD account that the secretary has Send on Behalf of permissions on his mailbox. When the sec opens their boss's calendar in their own Outlook, they click on the date they want to schedule a live meeting on behalf of their boss and click the "Schedule a Live Meeting" button. The live meeting request comes up for a split second and disappears and then they get the message:"You do not have permissions to schedule meetings and conferences on behalf of the owner of this account. Please contact the owner of the acccount."I have even applied the registry setting that was suggested earlier in this thread to enable syncing...that didn't work either..What else am I missing to get this setup for them??Stephen

- Have you installed at least the October 2009 update to OCS? It fixes the delegate permissions (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971845/)
It's not coming through Microsoft Update, so you have to use the OCS Server Update Installer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968802) Have you installed at least the October 2009 update to OCS? It fixes the delegate permissions (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971845/)
