Odpovědět Blank spaces on form IE ONLY!

I have a weird issue using infopath forms services on SP2010:

I have a form to be seen on the web browser with a repeating table. EVERY time a user presses enter (return) the space below on it DOUBLES.

    I have tried the following:

    1. Messed up with the form and repeating table options (ALL of THEM). Auto height, browser options, margins, etc.

    2. Tried it in Infopath Preview, it does not happen. Everything ok.

    3. Tried it in Firefox 3.0. Everything OK!

    4. Messed up with IE settings, advanced, etc.

It only happens with IE 7,8,9.

    I have attached a screenshot.

    Any pointers?

    Carlos

    Hi Carlos,

I can't reproduce your issue. Did you type the string directly or get data from other data connection? If you are getting data from second data source, please make sure there is no any line breaks or spaces after the string.

And also please have checked the other fields since the height will extend auto follow the max height of columns in current row.

    Best regards,
    Emir

    Hi,

In the section properties, can u check if height is set to "Auto".

Also, In the table properties, navigate to "Row" tab - select "Automatically set row height"

    Hope this helps you.

Hi Emir, thanks for your reply. I have made a blank new infopath form with the following:

    1. Create new blank form

    2. Add repeating table. Right click first field on first column and selected multiline and height was already set to auto.

In Preview mode, this does not occur. Then we Publish the form as Administrator Approved on Sharepoint Adm Central and finally when filling out the form on Web it Occurs.

Please check the attached images, one in IE and in Opera (issue is worst) and in Infopath Filler Preview (where it works ok)

    Hi Carlos,

Could you please give me the version/build number of your SharePoint server?

I, too, am unable to reproduce the behavior you describe with the extra white space at the bottom of the text box.  I do see similar behavior with the "double spaces" when inserting a carriage return in a Rich Text field.  This is by design for a Rich Text box I believe.

Are you using Rich Text Boxes? or Text Boxes?

Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

We are using Text boxes (not Rich) inside the repeating table. Actually they are the fields that come as default once you add the repeating table. The extra spaces don´t show up with carriage return, but when you simply start typing.

    This is the build:

    14.0.4763.1000 RTM

    SharePoint Server

Question, if you go to Infopath Forms Services and fill the info you don´t have extra spaces once you start to input the data?

This is fixed by a Hotfix.  It only happens with simple text boxes - a carriage return is thrown every 22 characters, irrespective of how many characters are on each line.It was covered in a couple of other threads a while ago.

    Carlos,

Have you installed the updated as documented by Ted Carroll? Once this is applied to your SharePoint server, the issue should be resolved.

    Thanks,

    Scott
