My W510-Laptop (Core I7, 16GB RAM, 160GB SSD, 2nd HD) does not like SP1. I have uploaded CBS directory content and poqexec.log on http://jwdberlin.com/cbs.zip. Any help is very much appreciated!

    Greetings from Berlin,
    Johann

Have you disabled the RPC Endpoint mapper and the Distributed Transaction Coordinator services in Windows?

Can you also please upload the setupapi log files from the Windows\Inf folder?

Check disk space requirements . The following table lists the approximate disk space requirements for the system partition, which includes the English (EN) language pack by default. Note that these requirements will increase if other language packs are installed on your computer. For more information about each installation method, see Deploy SP1 .

Thanks a lot for your efforts - I hoped you will have a look at it :-)

RPC endpoint mapper is running and Distributed Transaction Coordinator is set to Manual (and not running).

System Drive c: (160GB SSD) has 60GB free space - interestingly I could not use Windows "Systemabbild" (sorry - using German Windows) - got an error that not enough space is available so I did a backup of my system drive using Acronis.

Should I try an inplace update using Windows 7 with integrated SP1?

    Viele Grüße zurück :-)
    Johann

Do you mean the 100MB boot partition is full?
try an Inplace upgrade with the RTM DVD and install the Sp1. An Inplace upgrade requires a DVD with the same SP level as the Windows which should be repaired.

Hmmm - getting confused a bit. You can see a screenshot of my partition information here. Will continue tomorrow...

assign a drive letter and look which data are on the drive. And why is it 700MB?
