Access 97
Access 97
- I run Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 (including Access 2007). I have one application built with Access 97 and I also run it in Vista. It took some effort but I got it to run and it runs well.
It has always been too complicated for us to bother rewriting it in later versions of Access. Of course the data converts easily but the interface is a non-starter.
Will I be able to run Access 97 in Win 7, 64 bit?

- If anything you could always use XP Mode within Win7 and install Access 97 on there and do what you need. If the system meets the requirements for XP Mode.

- Yes, you can run XP Compatibility mode at the same time as Windows 7. It runs like a virtual machine, except you can interact with th eprograms running in it directly within Windows 7 as if they actually were running in 7. You can learn more about it at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-mode and http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/support/default.aspx.

Yes it would mostly work. However run it under SUA and check.
