the diference between program files and program files(x86) in windows 7 ,the benefit of program files (X86)

hello,
I asked this question before few months ,but I didn't made any notitions (I forgot,sorry) so I ask again.
what is the benefit of program files(X86) in windows 7 , is that a place for 86 programs , or it is just calle d like that. what is exactly the differnce between program files and program files (X86) in windows 7.
a short answer wil be enough .

Program Files(x86) are for your 32-bit applications
Program files is for your 64-bit installed applications
