No media items showing in either Windows Media Player or Media centre
- Since i upgraded from Vista (64bit) to Windows 7 (64bit) neither WMP or Media Centre are indexing any media items, therefore WMP shows "no items in your libray", even through I have mapped the correct drives through the Organisor function. I have also mapped the same drives for MC but still none appear. I have tried deleting the Media Player database from the Users directory in order for it to rebuild, but this does not work either.
The only way i have managed to get any music item in the Library is to select these from within Explorer, do a right click and play in windows media player or ad to WMP list. However, if you perform this at a top level directory it will add some but not others, therefore you have to go through by artist / albumn which is very time consuming. Unfortunately this did not work for Videos.
Would a clean install of Windows 7 help, and can I peform this after the vista upgrade? Appreciate I will have to re-install other app etc, but worth it if I can get WMP and MC to work as they are needed for connecting to Xbox's
Can anyone help?

- Okay think I may have found a way to get this to work, but still have no idea why it did not work initailly. The process i went through was to create another User account in Standard format. When starting WMP in the new user account this starting the indexing and all files appeared (including Videos & pictures). I then changed this to an Admin account and deleted the old (initial one) which was still not working. I am now where I need to be with one Admin account and a working WMP. Why this should work i do not know!

- Check all the permisions for your folders. As for indexing do you mean you can't search for them in the search bar? As for right clicking to add music, what happens when you add music from MVP (press "ALT" (on the keyboard), go to "file", "Manage Libreries", click "music", by now a windows should have popped up called "Music Library Locations", then click "Add..." and add the folder you want) what happens?
Same suggestion here. Please go to file - Manage libraries - music - browse the computer for music folder. You can try music folder in different location and see the result.
Sean Zhu - MSFT- I have tried going through the organize route to Add more libraries just in case it was a problem with the main My Music path, but cannot get music or video to be picked up from any drive both internal and external. Also something I didn't notice before, when I do ty and Add a folder to the library where music is stored, it always comes up with "no items match your search" i.e it cant see any! I have checked this out via the normal search (via the start orb) and this finds them fine, both music and via on many diferent drives.
