    Hi

    I've the need to protect access to some windows 7 machines and I would like to use a smartcard controlled access using certificates from a PKI that is already in place.

    Those machines are not part of any domain, indeed no domain is in place. 

    How can I implement the smartcard logon? all the articles I've read address usage of Active Directory.
