I used this excellent article to create a testing environment on a Wk8 R2 server. However, when creating my parent VM I mistakenly added an application and it is now appearing in all my child VMs. Can I go back and remove the app from my parent VM and that change will be seen in all my child VMs?

If this is possible what would be the correct procedure to do so?

Unfortunately not.  When you split off the child VM's the original
parent became set in stone basically, you can't change something on
that VHD without breaking the child disks.

You'll have to remove it from every VM, or start over by deleting all
the child VM/VHD's, remove the app on the parent, then recreating your
    child VM/VHD's.

That's a real pain. Cheers though.
