DPM 2010 prereq for Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2012

I got a prereq screen after trying to add my SP 2010 farm to my DPM 2010 protection group. We're running SP 2010 with SQL 2012 which was not an upgrade from SQL 2008 but a new installation. Other than upgrading to DPM 2012 (beta?) or downgrading our SP db to 2008, what are our options?

Hi Brollman,
You shoul also verify that your protected computers (Front End, and so on) must meet the prerequisite from technet article provide by Seidlm.

Dienstag, 19. Juni 2012 13:27Understood. I have had ongoing protection for my servers for years. This is a new box. I had a couple new servers I need to add, both 2008 R2 wSP1. Both can do the regular System State protection and the other server is fine with file protection. The error pops up when I'm trying to add Sharepoint protection when that farm is using SQL 2012. These servers are about 3 weeks old and were updated upon creation at the end of may so I'm fairly certain they're up to snuff.

Hi Brollman,
This may not be supported... Maybe Mike Jacquet could give you an answer.
I found an interesting link: http://theessentialexchange.com/blogs/michael/archive/2012/05/09/dpm-2010-backing-up-sql-2012.aspx
Edit: Did you apply SharePoint Server 2010 SP1 ? (Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012)
Stephane.

Thanks, I sent him a message.
I set the login security, didn't change anything. I've read that an in place upgrade, leaving a 2008 database in place, will allow this type of backup to work. I'm wondering if there's a way to place a 2k8 db in SQL 2012.
