SBS 2008 (Ex2007) in Hybrid Deployment

    Frage

  • Hi Guys,

I have a customer with an SBS 2008 server which contains 174 mailboxes.  I am going to cut over this customer to O365.  This customer has a large number of "Accepted Domains" in their on-premises SBS server.  As a result I'm looking to setup a "Hybrid Exchange" deployment instead of going down the path of a "Staged Migration" as it will allow us to perform more in-depth testing before cutting over to O365.

    My Questions:

    • Can I add an Exchange 2010 server to act as the hybrid box in an existing SBS 2008 Exchange 2007 Organisation?
    • Does SBS have any blocks which prevent additional Exchange servers from being added to the organisation?

Looking forward to hearing back from MS or someone who has implemented this scenario.

    Kind Regards,
