    hi,

    From my Xerox/HP MFP i'm not able to send the scan doc through exchange after installing forefront security sp2 for exchange 2007.

    what could be the possible cause for this.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

    To narrow down this issue, please run the FSCUtility tool to disconnect Forefront Protection for Exchange from Exchange(fscutility /disable) and see if the issue still retains. If not, please check the following:

    1. is there any error message when you send the scan doc from the client machine?
    2. Is there any error message from FPE server? do the doc block by FPE?

     I'll check this by tommorow and will update u on this.

    After disabling that if i can send through then how can i resolve this issue ? what should i check more ?

    Hi Nick,

     I've Disabled Forefront Security and the i tried and i was able to send successfully.

     I checked your 2 Q.

    1. is there any error message when you send the scan doc from the client machine?

           I'm sending through XEROX machine. It just give me error that smtp could not connected.

    2 Is there any error message from FPE server? do the doc block by FPE?

          No there is no any log on regarding this.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

    According to the error, the connection between XEROX machine and Exchange server has been blocked. You may check if the XEROX machine can telnet the Exchange server.  Do you have restart XEROX machine when you install FPE on Exchange server? If the attachment was blocked by FPE, you can find the hint from the incident.

    Hi Nick,

      Finally i got to rid of that issue, i just tried with another email id as "From" address from my Xerox/HP MFP and it got started working.
