Montag, 2. Juli 2012 23:03Hello, I have Compaq Presario CQ50-104NRNootbook with Vista OS. I have only the recovery discs (2) and in the BOOT folder I do not see BOOTSECT.EXE. How do I get a copy of the file? I have searched online and can't find one from HP or MISCROSOFT. Please help. Thanks! CY

If you have an available windows 7 or windows vista install disc (oem or retail will work) you can copy it from the \boot\ Directory on that disc. Alternatively, if you download and install the WAIK (Windows Automated Installation Kit) you can get the file from the following directory: C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools\x86
