Like many people, I'm stuck at that awkward stage of developing an intranet, but not wanting to do it in 2007 when the far superior 2010 is en route.

I've read and understand that a direct upgrade path is not going to be available, however I'd like to be able to develop the structure of the site at least, to enable a quicker deployment at RTM.  From my understanding VS2010 has the ability to develop solution packages (WSP's) for SP2010, so does this mean that the structure for these files has been finalized regardless of the database schema of SP2010 itself?

I'm assuming not, as MS would likely have highlighted this by now, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask!

Development efforts on the Public Beta should be viable for deployment to the released version of the product; however, as with any development activity you should perform due diligence in validating your code against the released products API's prior to deployment.
