    Hello;

    This post is about using SSRS 2008 with MOSS 2007

    I have a couple of questions about installing SSRS into sharepoint using integrated mode.

    1. Does CA have to be on the report server in order to "Grant Database Access" using CA ? Otherwise I see posts stating that can get errors stating that you cannot connect to the WMI. I have already configured access manually and I can navigate to the report service url so do I even need to consider granting access through CA ?

    2. Does BIDS need to reside on the report server or can I leave it on my development pc and push code that way?

    Thank you for any kind replies.

    Hi James,

    It doesn’t need to install the CA on the same server which is installed SSRS. But you need to install WFE on that report server, and it has joined in the SharePoint farm.

    And you can install BIDS on any machine, if you want to publish the reports to a SharePoint library, please make sure that you can access the SharePoint library from that machine installed BIDS.

    There is a blog with many articles talking about this topic, you check,

    Thanks
