    Hi

    I'm just wondering if it is possible to delete the draft version of document from document library and restore it to previous approved version.

    1. Document uploaded to the library by Author (Status: Draft)
    2. Document published by Author (Status: Pending)
    3. Document approved by Approver (Status: Approved)
    4. Author modified the document (Status: Draft)

    If the above case, Author needs to publish or restore (version hisroty -> restore).
    But someone said it is possible to delete draft version only from the document library.

    Please anyone know of how to delete only draft version?

    The configuration of the document library is below.

    Content Approval: Yes
    Document Version History: Major and Minor (Draft)
    Required Check-out: No

    HI,

    Go to the settings of the document library and select the versioning settings and then select keep on major versions.

    I hope this will help you out.

    Thanks for your response.

    Yes, both Keep the followinf number of major versions: and minor (draft)versions: have already been selected.

    Also, I tried to "Delete Draft Version" from "Version History" screen but unable to delete the draft version...

    <Example1>
    Draft(1.2)
    Draft(1.1)
    Approved(1.0)
         |
    Select "Delete Draft Version" from "Version History" screen
         |
    Draft(1.1) got deleted but Draft(1.2) remains

    <Example2>
    Draft(1.2)
    Draft(1.1)
    Approved(1.0)
         |
    Select "Delete" in the document library pull down option
         |
    All version got deleted

    Please advise me, thanks.

    If the current version of the document is in Draft status we will not be able to delete the draft versions.
Also any recent version of the document will not be deleted from the version history.
It is by Design.

    I got your point, there's no way to remove the most recent draft version from the version history.

    To remove the draft version is to restore the previous approved version or re-publish the draft version.
