Search and Event ID 2436
Hi All,
I've been having trouble with the search configuration for a while now.
Event id 2436 warnings were appearing in the event log every five minutes and the crawl was not populating the index correctly.
Then I saw this post by Marcel A. Bernards:

Following Marcel's advice, via remote desktop, I did a "run as" on iexlpore.exe and offered the login/password of the domain account that I am using to perform the crawl.
I could then disable the auto detect settings in the proxy config page in IE7.
The 2436's stopped appearing in the event log and running a full crawl populated my search index.
I thought I'd post it here in case anybody else is bumping into this issue.

- Very helpful posting, got this issue cause of some admin changed the domain browser settings, resulting sharepoint search to shut down. Thanks a lot for posting this!
