Too long path or file name

I created a msi deployment package with Adobes Application Manager Enterprise Edition (of InCopy CS5). It creates a msi and some folders with content files. When I try to create a SCE package from the second option "Deploy a package from a setup file requiring additional folders" the package creation errors out saying a path, file name or both is too long, > 150 characters.
Is there a way to solve this?

Hi,
Please ensure the path and file name is not long exactly; or just try another shorter path or file name.
Meanwhile, please try creating other packages and see if the issue occurs.
Regarding deploying a package, please try again referring to the following guide:
Deploy Office 2010 by using System Center Essentials 2010

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I made a new package (in AAME) deselecting all non related updates and the SCE package creation is chugging along just fine.
Is there some kind of error log when the package creation fails so one can find which filename was too long?
Thanks.

As far as I know, there may be no log to find which filename was too long.
To troubleshoot software and updates distribution issue, you can check “Windowsupdate.log” and “Softwaredistribution.log”:

Thanks,
If ayone else wants to deploy Adobe InCopy (or other Adobe products.)
Download Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition.
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.htmlNB!!! You need to have deployed KB 2607070 otherwise the deployment fails.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenteressentials/archive/2011/09/12/deploying-kb2607070-on-win7-sp1-sce-managed-clients.aspxDeployment
- You have to unpack Adobe InCopy so you see the folder containing the set-up.exe and package files. (the first setup file is just an extractor that launches the setup.exe)
- Choose create install package in AAME.
- Point to the folder containing the set-up.exe and fill in package name etc.
- On the "Installation Options" screen. Deselect "All components"in the upper right corner unless you feel you need them.
- Deselect updates. Otherwise the SCE creation will fail with the error message in my first post (see above).
- Create SCE package, choose "Deploy a package from a setup file requiring additional folders" and point to the Build folder.
- No installation or uninstall command line flags is needed.
Updates
- Manually download the update from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
- Run AAME and choose "Create Update Package"
- Enter package name and save folder.
- Deselect all updates and press the Add Update, choose your downloaded zip file and finish the package creation.
- Create SCE update package, choose "Deploy a package from a setup file requiring additional folders" and point to the Build folder.
- No installation or uninstall command line flags is needed.
Good luck.
