    Hi,

    I got 3 machine, i am having problem to moving my perimeter VM to hyper-v server as error prompted below. I understand the reason why it stop me but i am finding solution how to migrate my perimeter vm without additional server?

     

     

    1238 The virtual machine %VMName; cannot be 

    transferred because it is located in a 

    perimeter network. 

    Ensure that the selected virtual 

    machine is not in a perimeter network, 

    and then try the operation again.

     

     

    Machine1 (Perimeter with VMM agent installed)

    Windower server 2008 R2 sp1 installed, not joined to domain 

    (DC) (SCVMM) is on this machine, and others VM

     

    Machine2 (Joined domain)

    Hyper-V R2

     

    Machine3 (Joined domain)

    Hyper-V R2

    Since there is no response, i have reinstall my Machine3 to Window server 20008 R2 sp1 and joined domain, export all vm from Machine 1 to Machine 3 and migrated all to Machine 2. Everything go smooth.

    I wonder why SCVMM do not support export and import, this is one of the features that useful.

    In VMM 2008, virtual machines that have been deployed on a host on a perimeter network cannot be migrated to hosts in the internal network or to other hosts on a perimeter network. In VMM 2008 R2, virtual machines that have been deployed on a host on a perimeter network cannot be migrated to hosts in the internal network, but can be migrated to other hosts on a perimeter network.
