I was having problems upgrading to 3.2 for over a year, and today, I finally upgraded my iMac to OSX 10.7.?. Doing some searching, I saw that there was an update to 3.3, but downloading 3.2 or 3.3 would never let me update Boot Camp past 3.1. OSX 10.7 has Boot Camp 4.0, so I tried that -- no luck. Uninstalled 3.1, no luck again, and couldn't install 3.2 or 3.3 as those were 'upgrades'.
So, I ran the MSI installer and created a debug file:
msiexec.exe /i "D:\WindowsSupport\Drivers\Apple\BootCamp64.msi" /L*vx D:\MSI.log
Looking though the file, I saw an error:
MSI (c) (20:44) [23:37:24:590]: Doing action: GetIntelGRXID Action 23:37:24: GetIntelGRXID. Action start 23:37:24: GetIntelGRXID. Return value 3. MSI (c) (20:44) [23:37:24:595]: Doing action: SetupCompleteError
That got me thinking about graphic and display drivers. I looked in Device Manager and saw the Windows Live Mesch display driver, so I uninstalled Mesch and removed the display device. Boot Camp 4.0 installed without issue. I imagine anything else that adds a virtual display adapter may cause problems with the install too...

Donnerstag, 4. April 2013 15:22Thanks JKurtz. I had the Logmein client installed and its virtual display driver was causing me to get an error when trying to install Boot Camp 5 on my Windows 8 PC. I removed the virtual display driver and Boot Camp installed perfectly.
