Hello!
There is a problem with Windows 7 and Flight simulator X togheter.
The game crashes due to an error with win 7.
The problem has been discussed and It has to do with the "UIAutomationCore.dll file that is
located in system32.
But there is no solution to the problem, only some suggestions from users all over the world
that if you remove the dll file it will be solved or switch it with a Vista version of the file.
The different suggestions on how to fix it works for some users but It's not a 100% working fix. Since I have paid for
Windows 7 and a huge amount of people have this problem, we want a solution to this that works.
If It worked for XP then a there should not be so hard to fix this for those people who works
with this. Is windows 7 working with this already or what's going on? Is there already a fix
from windows 7?Users have suggested the following fixes: Run FSX in compability mode for
windows 7! (Not working).Remove the dll file! (Worked in the beginning but had side effects
like sceneries and objects in the game disapeared. And now It's crashing anyway.)Switch the dll file with a vista file! (I dont have the vista dll file availeble so I can't do that.)
Reinstall FSX! (No because the same problem is showing up after the reinstallation and the
problem isn't that the game was installed incorrectly.)The problem was discussed in this thread but the final solution was to remove the dll file and that FIX isn't working for everyone.

Ok so I hope I can get some feedback
on this and like I said, many people have this problem. And there are many people who have
this problem.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this as yet as I have exactly the same issue here and it has to be said is quite annoying. The thing I find strange though is the compatibility website. It says that all versions are compatible with 64bit Win 7 with the sole exception of FSX Deluxe. Now I have FSX Gold which includes both FSX Deluxe and FSX Acceleration.
According to the website Acceleration and Gold versions are comptaible - if this is the case then howcome the Deluxe version is not when this is the base installation product for the Gold version which is????
Is it that the Acceleration addon makes the Deluxe version compatible with Win7 64bit?
If this is the case has anyone come across an update to this because its not working for me.
My game crashes out referencing the same dll file as described by maynen93. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it either - doesn't matter what or where I'm flying, be it a standard aircraft or an addon. Could be in mid flight, take off, landing, day, night, oesn't matter about the weather it just crashes out to desktop. Sometimes it can be after 5 mins sometimes after 45 mins - always the same result though.
Come on Microsoft please sort it out - it can't be that hard to solve.

After years of frustration, I am know using FSX on Win7. I re-installed FSX outside of the Microsoft Programs(x86) file and named it "Flight Sim" So it is C:\FlightSim
Secondly, I downloaded a Zip file of the XP version of UIautomationcore.dil (Googled to locate) and after extacting the contents to a file of your choice, I moved the contents into the FSX file (not copied, just moved)
I am now enjoying using the FSX on line HOWEVER the program is not perfectly stable. DON'T switch between menu items quickly, save your flight at every opprtunity (I do at every waypoint on ny flight plan) and don't minimize your flight window. If you have to see another page, pause your flight!
