Answered Microsoft WPD Enhanced Storage Password Driver

    Every time I turn on my computer, I get the same message "Microsoft WPD Enhanced Storage Passwork Driver Failed".  Then it will say it's trying to install, then that it was unable.  There is not a triangle, not a code and no number.  Please help!

    Open up Device manager and look for the Yellow Exclamation marks. You may have to expand all the items to see the yellow mark. Once you find the yellow mark right click on it and select uninstall. Do a shutdown and reboot and the message should be gone.

    Thank you for posting.

     

    The Microsoft WPD File System Volume Driver allows you to treat your CF and SD cards and USB sticks as a devices for Media Syncing.

     

    This issue can be caused by corrupt INF files. Let’s troubleshoot this issue by copying these files from another known Windows 7 computer.

     

    1. Please copy usbstor.inf and usbstor.PNF (c:\windows\inf) from another known Windows 7 computer to problem computer. (You also can upload them from another known computer to your email and download them to problem computer)

    2. Reboot the computer check if it gets detected and works fine.


    In addition, please go to manufacture’s website and install the latest drivers also.
