W7Pro x64, all updates...Good digital antenna, WMC has worked well in the past, HD died, used old system image before WMC setup, now it will not find any or many channels on scan... it varies. Was better earlier today, now it can not find ANYTHING. WE HAVE 24 CHANNELS AVAILABLE IN AREA.
Update.. it now has found 5 channels, just not the ones I WANT!!
Yet when I use the included software with my TV card, we have all channels in the local area as well as some very questionable ones. When I tried to watch live TV in WMC (when we had stations showing up in scan) IT FAILED SAYING NO SIGNAL AVAILABLE.
HELP PLEASE, we want to watch Nascar tonight and record the firm!!!
Thanks, mike
I have set the clunky software above to record The Firm tonight, but we really want WMC to work. All updates are installed, including the driver for kworld PC-150-U
10 pm update: Channel scan now shows 10 of 24 channels, but one of the channels it shows is "Not Available" in WMC, but has five bars in Total Media.
Channels in the guide schedule that are not on the scans show up fine, very frustrating, this is!

Hi,
Maybe you can try to uninstall the TV card and disable Windows Media Center in Programs and Features, then re-enable it=>reset all the settings for a test.

Juke Chou,
Sorry it took so long to get back!! I've been busy building a new garage....
That kinda worked, but Total Media still shows 5 bars signal strength on its own GUI, but Media Center shows vastly varying signal strength, mostly NO Signal on strong local channels.
Is there a way to change the signal strength????

Hi,
This seems the TV card reports wrong info to WMC. Have you installed a latest version driver? Also, you may try to contact the manufacuturer for assistance as well.

Juke Chou,
You are kind of on the right track! This card does not report well to WMC.
Answer:
I bought a Hauppauge card that reports correctly to WMC
