    I have tried everything I know, scanned with avg, stopped system restore, tried to delete wuauclt.exe out of system 32 folder (won't work) did the ctrl,ault,delete thing and tried to end the wuauclt.exe processes. These things don't have a red "X" box on them, and they keep coming every now and again and Ijust keep "stacking" them on the bottom of my monitor screen so that I can keep working. This is a PAIN! Trojan, worm? why doesn't avg find it?

    Firstly, please let us know when did this issue occur? Whether you have installed the new programs?


    Originally, wuauclt.exe is a legitimate system process that is located at C:\Windows\System32, but there are cases when wuauclt.exe is actually a disguised virus, Trojan or a worm. If you find wuauclt.exe stored anywhere different from its original location, you should get really suspicious and scan your system for possible threats. 

    I suggest you try the following:

    1. Try system restore if you have the restore point

    2. Go to Clean Boot to check the result

    3. Go to Safe Mode and use other anti-virus programs or Microsoft Security Essentials to scan your system.
