Hyper-V and DirectX

I was wondering: does the PARENT partition supports DirectX (3D/etc)?

Short answer: Yes.
It depends on the video card and its drivers. And you have to have DirectX installed. Server core doesn't support DirectX, of course.
I did some testing for you. The results were interesting. I initially connected to my Hyper-V server using Remote Desktop Connection. I ran all Passmark's PerformanceTest's 3D graphics tests. The simple test worked, but the medium and complex tests failed with this error message:

Warning: Nothing will be rendered.
The reference rendering device was selected, but your
computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device
installed. Please ensure that the most recent device driver
for your graphics adapter is correctly installed.

---------------------------That didn't make sense to me because I knew the graphics card supported DirectX and that DirectX was installed. I logged on locally and reran all of the tests successfully. So, yes, a parent partition can support DirectX, but not through Remote Desktop Connection.
