Hyper-V cannot connect to the specified Replica server 'Replicatest.test.com'. Error: A connection with the server could not be established (0x00002EFD). How are you verifying that the machines can communicate with each other over port 80?

What authentication mechanism are you using?

Have you checked the Event Log on both Servers? (there should be one specific to Replica / Hyper-V)

    First test the Basics:

    • Is Replicatest configured as replication Server with port 80 enabled?
    • Is the Firewall rule for incoming Hyper-V Replica enabled?

    O.K. Two more questions:

    • Wenn you specify the replication tartget on the VM did the System find the target on port 80 or did it not?
    • do you have a Proxy with the command "netsh winproxy" defined?

Thank you for concern regarding my problem and reply me immediate

When I was trying to create replication that time only my hyper-v server get error in event log

Nothing happens at DR site not a single error generated.

and When I ran "netsh winproxy"  command below message

The following command was not found : winporxy.

Now let me tell my background I am pure Database person I know how to create replication on database site and make database highly available

Sorry I gave you the wrong command. You must open an command prompt with Administrator rights and enter "netsh winhttp Show Proxy". If it the command return that there is no Proxy everything is fine.

With Hyper-V Replica you create a repliation of a VM. The replication copys the VHD/VHDX file to the replication target and the replicated the changes every 5 minutes. Is your "source Server" also configured as replication Server? If not please do so.

That command gives me below result

    Current WinHTTP proxy Settings;

    Direct Access (no proxy server).

It has identically same setting on my "Source server "

    Some more Questions:

    • Are your Servers in the same Domain?
    • are the in the same subnet? If not is there a Firewall between the two Systems?

    A nice error you have.

    • can you ping the repica Server?
    • Are there VMs on the replica Server?
    • If yes can you try the replica with one of those to the source Server?

O.k. this is a very importand Information. Maybee there are some Folders left. Please find the "Hyper-V Replica" Folder and rename it. Then disable the replica Server configuration. Save it and than reconfigure it. It should create a new Hyper-V Replica Folder and than please try again.

    Hi J P IT,

Here is some recommendation for Replication configuration.

    • Its seems like your install Guest OS in wrong place. The default location to store your replicate files it would be in other drive. Since you put inside users\public folder its look weird. FYI, the replicate file will grow very fast every single minute and you putting your files system in risky
    • Please use allow replication from the specified server. Add your primary server as replication targets.

    Thanks

    Hi J P IT,

Try to setting allow replication from specified server as below:

    • Primary site - DR Site

    -point target to DR site

    • DR Site to - Primary

-point to target to Primary site
