Hello Folk,
I have setup EFS encryption on windows 2003 server in WorkGroup Environment. The main goal was to encrypted files so if any one copies the files then he/she cannot open it. After setting up the EFS when I copy the files to another computer or NAS folder then it loses the encryption. How can I fix this or restrict copying of the file.
Thanks

there is no way, because EFS is not intended for such purpose. It is used to protect sensitive information from accessing by unauthorized person, not from the user who encrypted the file.My weblog: http://en-us.sysadmins.lv

Thank you. Is there any way to keep the encryption when authorized users copy the files over the network, email them or use USB/CD rom. There are some people who are stealing the confidential information. Can anyone please recommend any solution.
