Sync with Microsoft Update Failed

I have read through of the postings on here but I haven't seen a solution to my issue when I try to sync with Microsoft Update. Just so I can eliminate a potential firewall issue, I can succesfully telnet to the Microsoft update site.
This is a new WSUS installation on Windows 2008R2.
Any help? Thanks, Phil

The solution is to install KB2734608 to your WSUS server. (A patch originally released in August, 2012.)
