We noticed WSUS installed in a couple of our servers security update for Redistribution C++ software for 32 and 64 flavors in servers with 32 bits.(x86)..... I don't actually maintain the WSUS procedure nor the Group Policy of the domain. I just troubleshoot missing dll which are flag by third party scanner tool indicating a vulnerability detected on the servers... My job is to find the root of the problem. In this scenario I'm kind of comfuse. I read the report indicating there a missing X64 package sofware update for redistribution for C++ 2005(MFC70).
I look in and noticed the software is present and contain an old Dll. Should n't the software not be present on the machine on the first place due to it my not work. Second is there a way to prevent sofwtare get updates for this flavor on this machine. Is this a group policy problem?

Be sure that you are using the current update catalog with your scanning tool or you will get inconsistent results.I read the report indicating there a missing X64 package sofware update for redistribution for C++ 2005(MFC70).

Not approving the udpates for installation is usually the best way. If the update needs to be installed on some systems, but not on others, this would involve creating additional WSUS Target Groups to separate the approvals. Is this a group policy problem?
Nope.
