Answers

  • Seems you need install SSMS latest version 2012 then connect to database engine (express 2012)

    to download SQLManagementStudio(2012)

  • Sorry i know this was an old post, but i'm currently having the same problem as yours previously.. the same error shown up when i try to creating table, as "This server version is not supported. Only servers up to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 are supported".

can i know how u solved this actually? do u mean u format the computer and installing a new Windows? and where do u spot the option for "microsoft SQL 2008"?

For your info, my system using:

    1. Windows 8 64bit

    2. SQL Server 2012 Express

    3. Visual Basic 2010 Express

    4. Visual Studio 2012 Express

    with everything updated.

    thanks!
