The administrator login doesn't seem to be in the enterprise admin group. tried using "netdom" command and the error that come back is failed, the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. • You will need to restore the system state, and that may not work. Best is to restore the entire system from backup. SBS does not allow the machine name or the domain name to be changed.

  • If SBS does not allow machine name to be changed how was someone else able to change it? This could be a problem I don't think the customer has a recent system state backup.

  • Well, we have only the reference I gave you, and others like it, to go by. However, it doesn't really matter. Unless you know for dead certain the damage was caused by friendly fire you have little choice but to rebuild or restore the server. You cannot be sure what else was done or left behind. In fact, some would say you have little choice but to rebuild every machine that was connected to that server during and after the attack.
