Reporting Services 2012 loosed NULL default after server deployment

    Question

  • Hi.

I try to use a text parameter with (NULL) as default value. In SSDT the report flags the NULL checkbox for the text parameter after execution automatically. After deployment to SSRS server the NULL flag is not set probably anymore. Is this a known bug in SSRS 2012 SP1?

    Cheers,

    Nils

  • Hi Nils,

I have tried to produce the issue in my test environment (SQL Server 2012 RTM), however, everything goes well after deploying the report to the report server. How did you set the default value for the parameter? Please set the parameter default value to “(Null)” (without quotes). Please see the screenshots below:

  • Hi.

I checked your hint and everything is fine.

It seems to be a conversion bug from 2008R2 to 2012. If I save the report with "save as" everything is fine. Without this the flag will not be set in Report Server.

BTW. My Parameter is of type "text". Perhaps this has different behavior.

    Cheers,

    Nils
