sharepoint 2010 calender list new form free/busy based on Resource Group

    Question

  • We have a sharepoint 2010 calender list, in the form instead of selecting the resources we want to show the availability in Free/Busy column based on the Resource group.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Manikandan,

    Here the Resoruce and the Add, remove button are part of the one Resources colum itself, so all will come together or none.

    even though if we wnat to hide other two section we can achive it by using jquery but your delima will not solve.

    you can change the script like this.

    $('tr').not(':first').find('td:first').hide()

    becuase you can not achive the Free/Busy presense functionlity based on resource group selection.

  • Hi S.Mani,

    In SP 2010 Calendar list out of the box to show Free/Busy alert for People and Group so you can add the people and group and while scheduling the reservation you can find it out based on the Live presence status.

    Can you plz. describe your scenario like how you want to implement so that we can think about the custom solution.

  • Hi Krishana,

     In our Scenario the User has to Select Only the Resource Group(Note: we are planning to hide the Resources Drop Down) based on that automatically Free/Busy has to Populate the availability.

    Thanks

  • Hi Manikandan,

    you can hide the resources drop down using folloing js

    If you want to hide the resources colum only in new form, you can implement the following jQuery code-

    <script type="text/javascript">   $( document ).ready(function() {    var strText="Resources";    jQuery('td nobr:contains("' + strText + '")').eq(0).closest('tr').hide(); }); </script>

    JQuery reference files need to be referred in the code.

  • Hi Krishana,

    i have tried the above option, but it's hide resource group also. we are trying to hide only resources not resource group, we are trying to check Free/Busy availability based on resource group selection.

    Thanks
