Configure alert for errors in SQL 2012 MIrroring

    Question

  • Hello everyone. Trying to monitor SQL mirroring state using SCOM. Created rule to monitor events 1474,1442,1443 & 1480 in Application log. The problem is when we test alert on one DB, scom generates alerts from all databases on all instances in our SQL cluster.

  • What is the target of your monitor?

You may try to target the cluster instance for monitor the capture event.

  • To create a rule that generates an alert whenever an error occurs in the Application event log, you can refer below link

  • Still doesn't work.I dont undestand, why MS decided to remove Mirroring monitoring in SQL 2012. Still, if someone here is SCOM guru, maybe he can create analog to sql 2008  mirror monitoring. I don't believe that  discovery objects changed significantly since 2008.
