When i try to install iTunes, or QuickTime, i get:
error occurred during installation of assembly microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32", version="8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b".processorArchitecture="x86"" HRESULT: 0x80070422
I notice the error message says "win32" and "x86". Does this mean this version will not run on Windows 8 64 Bit?
what should i do?
iTunes, Windows 8, Installing, windows, itunes, quicktime, 64-bit, x64
See if any of the tips here help:
Also, this post seems to indicate the problem is caused by a faulty .net.
Try uninstalling all versions of .Net and then reinstalling .net Framework 4.5 from here:
Then run Windows update to get the latest .net patches. After all this, try the Quicktime/Itunes install again.
ok, the fix was to re-enable Windows Module Installer, which i had disabled because it slowed down system boot.
