Costs for upgrading from SQL 2008 to 2012 -

    Question

  • Apologies if this has been asked many times before, I couldn't find anything on the forum.

We are fully licensed to run SQL 2008 R2 SP2 but we are looking to upgrade to SQL 2012 SP1.  Do we need to purchase a new license for this or are we covered for a 'free' upgrade?

    Thanks

No you need to buy new license for SQL Server 2012. How can you do a free upgrade if you dont have licensed version of SQL Server 2012. if you have you can do it.
