Customer profitability

    Question

  • Hi,

    I have a salestable, customertable and I have Revenue, Margin, Profit. I would like to create a measure which calculates the unprofitable customers. Profit < 0.

    Any ideas

  • Hi Larra,

    It wasn't completely clear what the output of the required measure should be but if you want a count of the unprofitable customers you could try something like this...

    Unprofitable Customers:=
    CALCULATE(
      COUNTROWS(Customer),
      FILTER(
        VALUES(Customer[CustomerId]),
        [Total Profit] < 0
      )
    )

    In any case, you should be able to adapt this to return the required result by swapping out COUNTROWS(Customer) with whichever measure you'd like a value to be returned for after filtering out the profitable customers.

  • Total Profit:= SUM( SalesTable[Profit] )

    Create a pivot table with Customer as a rowfilter, and put your [Total Profit] measure on the pivot. Use your drop-down filter on Customer to create a 'Values' filter for [Total Profit] < 0.
