RD Connection broker and VDI clustering

    Question

  • I'm investigating Windows Server 2012 VDI and have a few questios I /think/ I know the answers to.  I would appreciate any comments/feedback anyone cares to leave:

    1.  Can/should a 2012 RD connection broker(s) be virtualized?  or should it remain physical?

I think a connection broker can be virtualized and furthermore included in a cluster to make the connection server (or servers) itself highly available.

    2.  Should a 2012 VDI deployment be separated from a Windows 2012 server cluster?

I think it would be beneficial to have separate clusters for Servers and VDI if simply due to resource allocation, logical separation, and management approaches.

    Thanks for any information/thoughts
