HI i can't able to view the downloaded rdl file.

    Question

  • Hi,

    I am using the sql server 2012. am design the sql report and download the rdl file.
    But I  can't able to open my RDL file in the design mode. 
    Whenever I am double clicking on the RDL file from my download location i can't able to view the design view. 

    if open the RDL file i got the "unknown error ".

    please help me and solve the issue.

    To open the downloaded rdl file, you need create a new Report Server project in the Visual studio and add the rdl file in the solution. Right-click Reports folder in the Solution Explorer, click Add > Existing Item, choose the rdl file. Double click the file, and you should able to view it in the Designer mode.

    In addition, you can use Report Builder to open a saved report. To start Report Builder, please see:

    First Thanks for your replay. actually i tried your way it is working nicely.

    while double clicking i can't able to open the rdl file in my location.

    i want to view my rdl separately in silverlight project(frm.aspx)

    i need the sample code for silverlight project(frm.aspx).

    please share the sample code .

    silverlight project does not come from Bussiness Intelligence project templates. I suggest you initial a new thread in Visual Studio forum for further discussion.
