  • Hi SSISQ,

I know little about IBM Cognos, but I would like to give you a brief introduce bout SQL Server Reporting Services:
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) provides a full range of ready-to-use tools and services to help us create, deploy, and manage reports for our organization, as well as programming features that enable us to extend and customize our reporting functionality.

Reporting Services is a server-based reporting platform that provides comprehensive reporting functionality for a variety of data sources. Reporting Services includes a complete set of tools for us to create, manage, and deliver reports, and APIs that enable developers to integrate or extend data and report processing in custom applications. Reporting Services tools work within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment and are fully integrated with SQL Server tools and components.

For more information about Reporting Services, please see:

For your original purpose about customers’ feedback about migrating from Cognos to SSRS, you could contact Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist you in a more efficient manner. Please understand that contacting phone support will be a charged call, but it will be free if this is a product issue.
