Server Manager reporting Manageability problem after Server 2012 R2 RTM Upgrade

    Question

  • I'm seeing a similar error as described here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/fb00775a-2da8-432c-9155-7d457fdf8e82/server-manager-reporting-manageability-problem-after-fresh-install-ws2012-rc, however I am getting this for the WebServer role instead of the File Services role after upgrading to Server 2012 R2 RTM from Server 2012.

I'm seeing this error in ServerManager-ManagementProvider:

Failed to query the results of bpa xpath: Microsoft/Windows/WebServer:$reports$\*\Result.xml:/ResultDatabase/Result. error: A device attached to the system is not functioning., last error: The system cannot find the path specified..

I DO have to WebServer role installed.

EDIT: Interestingly, I'm getting this for the FileServices role as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Cheers, Kevin

  • in IIS are all websites up?  did the upgrade process change listening ports or add another Virtual directory on the same port number without a host header?
