Data Access Service on starts with Domain Admin cred

    Question

  • Hi all

I have SCOM 2012. I noticed that I didn't get notifications from it anymore. After investigating I saw the Data Access Service stopped. Tried to start it with the SCOM Service Account (part of Administrators group in AD) with no luck. Changed it to local system account, then in the console SCOM would complain that it cannot access the auditing info on computers. Change the LOgon account for the service to a domain admin account and the service starts.

Is that suppose to be like that? where the service needs a domain admin account to function properly?

    Thanks in advance

  • did you apply password expiry policy to the SCOM service account and the SCOM service account is expiry?

The System Center Configuration service and System Center Data Access service account is used by the System Center Data Access and System Center Management Configuration services to update information in the Operations Manager database. The credentials used for the action account will be assigned to the sdk_user role in the Operations Manager database.

NO Domain Admin right is required for this service account
