Reset TPM from OS for MBAM Bitlocker Implementation

  • Hi All,

    Please let me know the process for resetting the TPM from Windows 7 Operating System.

    There is a pre-requisites for BitLocker implementation - Reset TPM from OS.

    Please let me know the guidelines and Best practice of the same

  • Different vendors have their own mechanism for it. Like wise for DELL you can download the CCTK tool from their website to activate the TPM and you can create a step in your SCCM or MDT task sequence to automate it.

  • You can go into BitLocker within your Control Panel, in the bottom left corner you should see TPM Administration. There you can manage your TPM, if and only if your TPM is enabled on your device. You should check that out by going into your BIOS, it's usually under Security.

    Note: This is assuming you are setting up Bitlocker and Bitlocker has not already been used to encrypt the machine, if it has and you reset the TPM your machine will get locked by Bitlocker by design.

    But how do we automate this TPM reset for implementing BitLocker which is managed by MBAM across the enterprise
