Performing calculations on aggregated values

    Question

  • I have been searching for the answer to this, I must be using the wrong key words.  I have a basic powerpivot table summing sales dollar amounts for each sales office/district/region over 1 year (based on individual daily sales orders).  I need to apply a formula to the summed dollar amount, but the formula is only valid at the year level, so it only works on the summed values.  How and where can I apply this formula, but still be able to filter my data at the different sales group levels?

  • Your table is exactly what I have, however I have found a way to get what I want... Put my time period totals as rows, not as columns.

    Thanks!

  • What is the structure of your table? I am interested in understanding the granularity of the rows in the table. Are you storing each sales order item?

    Does it look like:

Transaction ID Sales Amount Date Sales Region Country
    1 200 9/16/2013 Central US US
    2 290 9/15/2013 Central US US
